Large Banking M&A Program Management Engagement

A large West-Coast based bank acquired a smaller California community bank in order to expand its Retail Banking operations in Southern California. This acquisition proved to be a complex transaction from an integration perspective, and several business units within the client's operation were represented by project integration leads to complete related business consolidation and transformation work, as well as lead related system conversion projects. Blue Globe Management Consultant’s Principal Consultant, Peter Walzer, was assigned as the Consumer Lending business unit’s integration lead. In this capacity, Mr. Walzer lead a team of several Consumer Lending business unit executives and key operational and technology leaders to determine the specific scope and requirements of the integration changes. Mr. Walzer also served as the integration program lead for all related integration projects that needed to be delivered by the Consumer Lending business unit. Despite a complex set of staffing, operational, and technology changes, Mr. Walzer ensured that the Consumer Lending business unit's integration scope was delivered and that it met the quality, scope, and timing requirements needed to complete the Consumer Lending portion of the integration. After the completion of the integration, Mr. Walzer worked with key client team members to develop an M&A Playbook that incorporated lessons learned from the integration effort and defined a standard set of considerations and activities for future Consumer Lending integration work.
