Key Process Improvement Initiative

A regional energy utility had been struggling with process issues related to its critical Correction Maintenance Program (CMP) the quality of which determines if the company is in compliance with key regulatory measures. After a growing number of problems were reported related to the underlining CMP processes and systems, Peter Walzer, Blue Globe Management Consulting's Principal, was engaged to jointly lead the overall CMP Improvement Initiative (CII), teaming with a key client manager. The CII began with a focused effort to develop a robust structure to manage the portfolio of CII projects, and, after an almost two year effort, energy utility achieved the best CMP results in their history, along with a substantially improved process and substantially enhanced automation. According to the state regulatory commission, the degree of asset automation achieved was superior to all other state energy utilities.
